The Miss America Opportunity has changed the rules and regulations for the princess program, which is now known as the Miss America Little Sisters Mentorship Program. These changes have been made at the national, state and now local level. The Miss Monroe County Scholarship Program has now rebranded the Little Miss Monroe County Program to the Miss Monroe County Mini Mentorship Program. This program is now a chapter of the Miss Michigan Sweethearts Program. Along with rebranding come the following changes:
We know there may be concerns on what the program may be — but our mission still remains the same. To make each young girl who participates in our program feel like a princess themselves. We’re doing our best to accommodate the changes, as well as continue the Miss Monroe County traditions. Therefore, although there will no longer be representatives throughout the year, there will still be three young ladies that will have the chance to be sponsored to become a Miss Michigan Sweetheart. These names will be chosen out of a bowl by our new Miss Monroe County and Miss Monroe County’s Teen at the Miss Monroe County Afterglow following the pageant on Saturday, August 17th.
If you have any concerns — please let us know as we want each family and young girl to feel comfortable about the opportunity at hand. No matter what comes our way, we will continue to do what’s right by each and every young lady that participates in the Miss Monroe County Scholarship Program.
